The First Lady serves food to the patients |
At the beginning of each year, the
Buntu Foundation shares with the vulnerable people the joy of a New Year.
That's why the First Lady Denise Nkurunziza and President of the Buntu
Foundation paid a visit to the patients of Buye Hospital on Tuesday, January 2,
2018, to present them the best wishes of the year 2018. Sixty-eight (68)
patients and their nurses shared the lunch from Buntu Foundation.
By visiting all the services at Buye
Hospital, the First Lady gave food and lemonade to each patient and his nurse.
Her Excellency Denise Nkurunziza
indicated that the purpose of that visit was to share the joy with the sick
during these days of Christmas and the New Year. “These people have not had the
opportunity to celebrate with joy these holidays because they were sick, and
then, they are not in their families to share with theirs the joy. They need people
who join them to restore their hope for the New Year”.
She also asked other Burundians who
have the means to each time remember that by celebrating the holidays of the
end of the year and other holidays, it is important to reserve a part to the sharing
of joy with the vulnerable.
After Buye Hospital, the Spouse of the Head of State went to the “Umunyasamariya w'imbabazi” orphanage to share the joy with the children of the latter. The said orphanage started its charitable works on April 16, 2017 and currently has 27 children.
